    - - - Updated - - -

Used dodge radiator, fan and shroud, intercooler and piping. Only custom parts were the motor mounts, everything else is readily available at local parts stores. Been slowly plugging along with the body work.

    cool conversion!

Now the question - what did it cost in total?

i.e. - could you have just bought a 12v dodge for what you have in this conversion?

Well I've got 11 grand total right now. But its got a 8" lift, 37s, regasketed motor and everything in the drivetrains is new/ rebuilt. Close to 2k just in the drive shafts and front springs because I went for super heavy duty/ do it once and be done route. This may piss some off but dodge trucks are garbage!!!! Figure a complete front end rebuild every 50k, shitty unit bearings/ track bar issues, horrible ball joints tons of electrical issues and they rust just looking at them.

That said you would be hard pressed to find a Cummins truck in decent shape with less than 150k for 15-18 grand. So my opinion yes this is way cheaper to have a bullet proof truck over buying a stock Cummins dodge. Figure buying price plus another 6-7 grand to the dodge to compare to the Chevy I put together.

I agree you have alot of new parts for your 11k.

I am surprised it gets such good fuel mileage with the 37's.
