    Default Focus Hatch Build

My Focus is a 2003 with the 2.0 Zetec. It is over 190,000 miles and it is time for a re-fresh!

Goal is to drive it till the cows come home...

As many of you know it has a slipping clutch. That is what put it on the chopping block. I ordered a Clutchmasters stage 1 clutch pack with steel-backed organic disk. I decided I'm not doing anything over the top with this build.

I'm going to do the following as of now.
    * new valvecover (massive speed systems trophy valve cover)
The current valvecover gasket is blown and the valve cover itself is a ugly plastic one.
    *New Headlights
    *Bodywork & paint
I have gathered paintable sidemouldings and trim and need to address some minor (fingernail sized) surface rust.

Still deciding on keeping it factory pitch black or doing something wild.

Massive speed systems cut me a pretty good deal if I ordered everything in Massive Purple, so guess what color the underhood goodies are going to be?

Pretty bummed about the chrome wheels. They have some rust inside and they don't hold a bead. Re chroming is out of my price range but these are my favorite wheels. Just like my spoiler you don't see these.
Still need to work out what I'm doing with paint and body. Wife says it stays black and she is probably right.

They are the Mach/SVT stock ones. Looking to hopefully get 300 for them.

Just spliced them into the harness. Bad pic some they aren't cleaned. Been sitting for about 1 to 2 years without being cleaned.

Bulbs and ballast good? I'm sketchy about HID. they look awesome but they cost so much to maintain.

High Cost HID's are out there, but also look around for replacement Bulbs. I had Xentec's in my MX-3 and loved them. Will do the 12k's again ;-) after repaint and engine swap.

I will be replacing the bulbs before I sell them. Bulbs are under 20 shipped and last for 4 plus years.

    I'll think about the HIDS.

I've got an aluminum valve cover that is very cruddy. Anyone have a easy way to get it ready for refinishing.

I was considering polishing it I'd love to chrome it but I'm poor. May just have to paint it. Ideas?

Dan!!! I'm going to be asking your advise allot in the near future. Both for your general low budget skills and your body work. I'm going to be doing a lot of refinishing.
