    Default 2014 brz

Something different for me. I've had fast stuff so something now that handles great and is truly a drivers car is a nice change.

It's not fast, at all. I'm going to do a few power mods that will actually yield some gains - header and tune but then the rest is going to go into making this a nice weekend track day car.

The most fun I have ever had behind the wheel was doing HPDE events and I want to focus on that more and now is the best opportunity to get serious with it in this spur of the moment change from my SHO.

Suspension wise I'm going to go with Racecraft Engineering yellows since it's still my DD and all the proper misc. adjustment parts to get the alignment in proper spec. A set of Whiteline swaybars and wheel/tire combo will round all that out. I'm going to also get a thermostat and oil cooler to keep it cooled down on the track.

Since this thing will never be fast on the straights in N/A form I need to brake late and get through the turns fast. I'll go ahead and track it later this summer with the above and then see where to go from there. A brake upgrade and more suspension will follow over the winter.

One change I'm loving is the fact I got 35 mpg on the way to Pittsburgh over the weekend!

Oh yea and of course the windows were tinted the day after purchase haha.

Nice mileage, as for faster on a track, I'd start with the brakes first. even just SS lines and better pads will make a big difference in how long they last.

    Very sexy looking car.

Yea I will be doing that. I just figured id save any to a big brake upgrade while I'm at it. These master cylinder is great and brakes are good but could stand to be better.

BBK is awesome. factory brakes are good.. but don't take as much abuse.. luckily it won't have to overcome as much speed going into turns.

1st round of modifications on their way!

-Racecomp Engineering Yellow springs w/camber adjustment bushings and bolts
-K&N drop-in. I think it's hilarious the people that are paying 100's for intakes that give no more power than a filter alone.
    -TRD quick shift kit
    -Toms taillights
    -Perrin oil cooler
-H&R hubcentric 20mm rear wheel spacers
    -JDM armrest/center console cover
    -JDM exhaust tips
    -Smoked side marker lens
-Hitch, for my bike rack and probably a tire trailer in the future

Wanted to take care of a few cosmetic things I didn't like first. Next round will be header, tune, tires, and brake upgrades for the track!

    Racecomp Engineering...nice!

I've been to their little shop down near Hanover, MD and met Miles. He's a real cool guy...very knowledgeable. My buddy ran yellows on his '07 STi...great products.

It is a good looking car. 35 mpg isn't bad at all. I do agree that it does need a lot more power.

I have been to Summit Point 3 times now with various cars. I've done the Jefferson and Main circuit and would like to do the Shenandoah in the BRZ since it's more technical.
