Gotta watch the lift law and modified sticker requirements. Jumped through hoops for almost 6 months trying the get my k5 inspected. Only has a 6" with some fender trimming and 38.5 swampers. Bunch of BS!! Finally said screw it and put antique plates on it so I can atleast drive it on weekends and holidays.

I had an 07 JK unlimited 6speed with factory 3.73's, 2.5 teraflex coil lift, and 35's.. went from 20mpg with to 17 city and 14 interstate.. don't get me wrong I love my jeeps and have owned a pile of Cherokees.. but the 3.8 is a turd unless you regear, I have a friend with 35's and the 3.21 gears and it is almost unbearable. The downfall of my JK was the transmition ;syncros were starting to come out, and it would pop out of first gear pretty hard.. not long after that started it got traded for a 14 mustang

Ya I had an 2000 to and I do believe it ran better then my new one. I just really love the look of the lift an 35s. I call it the mall crawler lol because I don't don't think I will ever climb anything other then the curbs at the mall. But it will look good doing it. I just hope I don't have any problems with it.

thanks for the heads up on the regear. I have not even looked at what gears are in it now plus its an Auto so theres that. It won't be used for much of anything but back an forth to work and local driving..

I have a 13 jku with 3.73 gears, 6 speed, and a 2.5 teraflex coil lift with 35s and love it. 6th gear doesn't really do much unless you're on flat ground. If you have the $$ I'd go for the 37s. I wish I would've.

And I think the 13 has the bigger engine. Something like 85 more horse power. And mine is automatic don't think it will move with 37s lol

Yeah most people recommend regearing with anything bigger than 35s. What lifts are you looking to get?

I definitely wouldnt do anything bigger than a 35 without at least a re-gear. The transmission isnt going to like it either.

Rough Country 3.5" with new front control arms. If I recall you just swap the fronts to the rear and use the new longer fronts.

    Default Jeep tires

I installed a 2.5inch teraflex coils, bilstein shocks, and JKS track bars on my brothers 12 2door JK and it looks pretty slick. I've ran alot of Rough Country stuff on my TJ and never had much luck with the bushings and such. I try to stay away from them when possible, although I have heard they have improved their stuff. He threw on some 35 inch duratracs and MT sidebitters to top it off. He has the manual and noticed that 6 gear is unused on hills, but overall the newer engine has the power to pull them. When he decides to go 37's we'll look into regearing it.

This older engine seems to be the real issue.

I guess I'm used to my TJ with the 2.5L 4banger, so slow and gutless is the norm for me. 35's is what JK's should have came with stock they look perfect.

Are you planning on replacing the drive shafts with the 3.5 lift?
