I took about an hour today and cleaned and vaccuumed enough that it made me happy. LOL

Going to look into getting the glue off the doors from the door gaurds. And clean up the ext. as soon as we get weather above 40.

Anything cheap or free I can do to the ext to make it look better till spring? When I can really start on it.

Picked up a new battery today, since one of the conditions of our trade was he kept his battery he just bought a couple months ago. It left me stranded in Walmart parking lot. So after a nice guy with his family with him gave me a jump, I went to Autozone and got a 5yr warr. 700cca battery.

And this weekend if the weathers not too bad I'm going to pick up a new soft tonneau off craigslist for $75. Its the kind that snaps to the clamped on bars but it'll make it look better and hope to help with MPG's too.

They look good and keep things dry, but they can be a giant pain in the butt. Took the one off the my truck because I got tired of rolling it up every time I had to haul something. Then during winter, You ARENT getting it snapped back on.

I beginning to think you go through vehicles more often than I do anymore... Haha

Got the check engine light checked out. It came back as the Electronic Spark Control module. He said it has to do with the ecm adjusting the timing. A new module is $75 at advance so right now either I buy a new one, find a used one or just leave it alone. I think I might take a chance with a used one if I can find it cheap.

Also changes the sparkplugs, well one side so far. The front plug had the ceramic cracked and falling apart when I pulled it. And all 4 were black and very little electrode? (the part the spark comes from) left.

Got all the plugs changed, runs better but its still jumpy at idle. But I still have to get the ESC module.

Also got the exhaust put on. The radio goes up to 45 and had to put it on 30 just to hear it before. After the exhaust I can hear it at 10! This thing is really quiet now LOL.

And I changed the blower motor resistor. What a pain! Ended up losing a socket and a screw behind the heater core.

Did you get the fault code number for the esc fault? If it was 43 it could also be your knock sensor. Its a single wire sensor on the side of the engine block. Might pay to check that out before you buy any parts. Also when the light is on for that code you are running default timing which will kill your power and gas mileage.

He didn't tell me the number, all he said was it said the ESC module. I'll try and go back this weekend and see if he could tell me the code.

Did the paperclip trick and got a code 43. So I'll check out the knock sensor if I can find it. LOL

If its a 350 it should be right above the oil pan at the end of the starter. With the key on and the sensor unplugged the wire should have about 5 volts on it if the module is working. Then if you plug it up the wire voltage should drop to about 2.5 volts. The sensor should ohm out at 3900 ohms if its good.

WOW that was the fastest, cheapest thing I've ever done!

Crawled under there, looked and found the knock sensor wasn't even plugged in. Found the wire, plugged it in and started the truck up. NO CEL! Woohoo, I'm gonna go drive it in a little bit and see if it helped with the lack of power issue. If not time for a full tune up.

I made this video of my miss at idle. I know you can't really tell the RPMs drop but if you watch the oil gauge it drops when it misses and the rpms drop. What can i look into changing or fixing?

I just bought a 95 1500 2wd today . It has a noticeable miss at idle. My plans are to check for vacuum leaks. Especially around intake to head surface. Clean the egr and make sure it's functioning. Look for any dry rotted hoses. The precious owner just did plugs and wires. Going to check to make sure they are all seated right. Just going to try to narrow it down.

Sounds like a plan. Its wierd though. I put new plugs and wires in and the next day it ran great. There was a miss but very light, barely noticable. Then the day after that it was ok cold but when I got to work (30min drive) and parked it was missing badly. Its kinda has a time to it... run, drop, run, drop at a certain amount of time. Should I go ahead and change the cap and rotor since I did the plugs and wires already? Where is the EGR valve?

Oh yeah, I took it to the tire shop to get the frontend looked at. The steering was loose feeling to me and I wanted their opinion.
They told me I'm going to need all 4 balljoints, the Dr. side inner tierod end and the idler and pitman arms.

I knew it was a little funny feeling but geesh! I trust these guys and know they won't tell me I need anything I don't need.

Anyway, going to buy the parts and put them on at her uncles house. Anywhere to look for decent parts and cheap prices? I'd love to get Moog parts but at $55 a balljoint I'd be poor just thinking about it lol

I don't know if you have checked or not, but I bought some moog front end parts for my 99 dodge that I used to have on eBay.

Yeah, I've checked on ebay, most of them are only a couple dollars cheaper then advance or auto zone.

Went out and checked the vaccuum lines. I found one with a big crack in it and another with a bunch of little cracks in the boot. I fixed them and I'll see in a little bit if it worked. So far just letting it idle it sounded better.

Ended up leaving it at her uncles last night because the caliper locked up on me and I couldn't move.
Went back up there today and changed both calipers and lines along with the pads. Works good now. But my wifes not going to be happy. I told her it was probably just the line and that was $20. :/ It was only $100 more

Oh yeah, the wierd shaking and rpms at idle is still there. BUT I was told to time it and see if that gets rid of it.

The way I need to time it is to unplug the ESC module, time it and then plug it back in.
I unpluged it and it idled fine, no shake no jumpy rpm. I didn't time it though because her uncle said it runs fine. And didn't want to mess with it. So I plug the module back in and it start shaking and rpms jump again.

Any idea? I'm leaning towards needing a new knock sensor now. I'm going to unplug it again and see if it smooths out since I put all new plugs, wires and cap/rotor. If it does, I'm pretty sure its the culprit. What do you guys think?
