    Default 2014 at FLD

I met this week with Michael about new things at the FLDs. I know you guys are wondering who's the Big Dog but 2014 plans may not have a Big Dog class. They may drop Big Dog and have an open class with points for an extended hour of racing. It will be whatever you want, slicks, open headers ,etc.
What do you think? Michael would like some feedback.

    I will chime in.

They need a new open class but they need to keep the current big dog class and move cars around. The current big dogs are NOT street cars. The only way they have the proper paperwork is because of loopholes in state inspections and registrations that people like myself can not get. They use towing and dealership plates. Move these cars into the unlimited class and then move the current fast true street cars that are not gutted race cars into the big dog class. Example D-Rod, red corronet that always take top street and my car (Blue turbo Cobra).

So no one else have anything to say? I guess we better not hear any complaining at the up coming events then.

Can we have a vote for the biggest cry baby at the end of the year and give them an award?

I have a few thoughts. seeing fast cars is nice.. but honestly I will never be one of them, and don't care too much about watching them. I've liked the current format where they race at the end and don't just beat the shit out of us slow cars all day.

I do miss the days when you had to drive a street car there, but enforcing that was pretty hard.

I like it when there aren't as many racers, so i can get more laps and less time sitting on my ass in the car. they have done a really good job the past couple of years. I think that's awesome. Someone will be unhappy and bitch.

I think it will push a lot more "racecars" into the street class but I guess it really doesnt matter to me......my car is not fast enough to win. I would love to see an open stick class.

That's easy fix just use my plan. If a race car calls me out say OK but we are hot lapping 3 times. lol

I believe it will bring more track cars in. I could really car less about winning a class, I usually go up with my buddies and just have fun. It does suck waiting for 20-30 minutes in the staging lanes and trying to keep the older cars from overheating. I dont mind the guys bringing there stuff in on trailers. I towed my car up twice last year and thankfully I did cause it came home broke both times.

Come on guys dont you watch street outlaws....real street cars make 2000 hp and have funny car cages with 20" wide slicks, where have you all been lol

I dont mind people hauling there stuff in. I would really rather not have to haul mine home on the trailer next time though... lol

The not allowing people to haul their cars only hurts the people that come a long way. Besides how can I fit the grill, cooler, pop up, drag wheels and tools that people love to borrow from me all in the trunk of the car?

Now a semi with a 2 level car hauler is a bit much.

I can agree on a "shift your own damn car" class.

Road racing is where those slow 11.77 cars run isn't it?

I'd still like more events than 1 per month. But an extra hour of racing at each event is welcomed.

It's ok if speedracer doesn't have a car as fast others. At least he knows what a real race car is. Leave him alone...

Drag racing apparently eats away more brain cells than sniffing glue... How fast a car goes down the 1320 has almost no relationship to how fast a car will go around a road course...
