I had a long talk with the FLDs guys at WoW today and we talked about the open class and I am not 100% sure on how its going to work. Seems like they are going to pull all the full blown race cars out of the top dog class and mix in some race cars with out inspections or plates to run at the end of the event for an hour. We were talking about what an outlaw car is and I greed with about 99% of it. Mostly fully tubed out cars with the huge tires that ran in top dog. There where a few...Oh he drive it on the street so... Then I brought up that might be true but last year that car took a win in top dog so how the heck is it now a top street car. I guess we will just have to see how it goes. I brought up keeping the top dog class and moving the current fastest top street car into it but that didnt go over at all.

My talks with them indicated that everything is open for feedback and improvement. Please let them know what you want. They don't always give the answer you want but they do listen ( I still try to get in the Tuner class and Turk won't allow it )

I think they've improved on some things like getting rid of the pink slip crap. I say let the race cars race at the end. Ive noticed the street class has gotten pretty fast, witch is a good thing. There was a lot of mini tubed cars running in the street class witch I really don't agree with but whatever. IMO street class should be a small tire class. If your a big tire car that is still streetable then you should run big dog and let the full blown race cars play at the end. I don't disagree with people trailering there cars because people do come from a ways away and as said before you cant fit the grill, food, coolers and kids into a car. Whatever they do it still will be a good time regardless.

Stick class would be fun and I think would get alot of attn. You have a lot of the same cars that come out everytime. The results are almost expected in some classes. I dont know of any stick cars that are fast and consistent. I know this wont happen but would like to see the class with no 2-step or launch control. An all driver class

Word is another board's members have posted up the same wants as people here. Small time and a stick shift class is at the top of the list.

If a stick shift class gets started I might look into a pro shifted trans if I can find one strong enough.

They can work on getting the classes sorted out. I'll just be happy when I'm able to race again.

I am getting a kick out of the stories I am hearing about what people have asked for at the events. Looks like the slowest cars want turns at the end of the tracks. LOL Must be nice to be happy with your car to the point where you ask for crazy crap to slow the faster cars down. What next restricted CIs, limited shots on No2 or turbo sizes?

What happened to the "drag radials only, car must be driven in" days.

Long gone... 2008-9 was the last time it was more about actual street cars.

Yea I remember going a few times in 08 with my V6 Mustang then when I went 2 years ago with my 5.0 it was a whole different atmosphere.

I'd rather just go to street car nights at PRP, get some time slips and go up against... Street cars.

i agree on the street car night. The very first FLD they had in Ebensburg Pa there were over 250 cars (220ish being actual driven to the airport on 4 full sized tires street cars) there were over 5000 people there to watch. Now wh have to cater to the the guys that have race cars masquerading as street cars (top dogs)

that was the best time I ever had at a FLD... Heck I didn't even have DRs on

Hmmm funny how you guys complain about radials and dot drag tires when the setups that pull the water out of the boxes and screw up the starting line are those freaking street tires. I am not sure if people just don't know or don't care but I see it time and time again.

Then don't have any water at the FLDs. Since the slogan is "Street racing without the jail time" - No one was out spraying down the road at the stop light when I street raced.

...And at the drag strip - I drive around the water box.

I'm sure most people don't know... They are just showing up with their streetcar to have some fun

If the water box situation bothers you PRP might be the place to go when it's a racecar night
