    Default FLDs car winter upgrades?

Since the FLDs seem to draw faster cars every season, what updates are you guys making to your cars over the winter to run faster?

My goal is to get some new sticky tires and put the items I installed over the summer to use. Spinning aint winning!! Then I am getting revenge with that red Corronet that fendered me.

I can't wait till FLDs in the spring. I plan on killing it in the SHO. ~520 lbs of torque and AWD should make me able to take down cars that would normally be a lot faster especially in 1/8 mile.

Truck isn't paid off until July, so it'll probably take me a couple seasons to get back into it. Hopefully after that, I can start saving the play money up again.

Im going to add a better cooling fan, 514 cubes and 12 to 1 really bring the suck setting in the staging lanes for a half hour!!! I only made it up twice last year, if they put in a timer I would be at everyone lol.

A timer would be a waste on the slippery surface. I can't run WOT and I would think a bunch of people are in the same boat. I am still working a getting my boost controller ramp rate configured right. Every time I get it setup I change a major part on the car and have to start all over. lol

I really like the Camaro's 3:42 cruising ratio but may give in to the 3:73's next year. 3:42's are a huge disadvantage in the 1/8. In the 1/4 I can start to catch up.

My Buick is getting a new V6 and some front suspension upgrades. Not much else to do to it this winter, Robbie's Olds is still the only car to out launch the Buick there, but it's 514CI too.

Is that partsman's issue? Honestly the higher gearing seems to help on the slick track, my cobra has 3.27 gears in it.

^--Perhaps. I know he gas street tires on everything too and likes to go 1/4mi or more.
I agree higher gearing will help when traction limited, 3.42 in the turbo Buick is great for what that car does and how it does it. Just pulling the stock v6 out soon and putting new head gaskets in it and keeping it as a backup engine.
My friend Mitchell777 is building a Teksid 4.6 to replace the iron block in his '03 Cobra and having the 4v heads ported, now he just needs to learn to launch that car.

Mitchell777 is going to love that setup at the track. 80lbs off the nose of the car makes a big difference in weight transfer.

I'd also like to make it up to the drags next year. I didn't even know they were going on again until late this summer. I ran there with my Turbo Coupe a damn eternity ago (2006 I think?), would love to run the Mustang although I know it'll be even harder to launch than the TC.

Greene Co poured concrete and if you still can't launch it's your set up, not the track. I'm launching with gears in the 5s and trapping the 1/8 at 7400 in 3rd. My set up can be improved with cal track but I'm too old to make changes.

Are you guys getting the winter mods about done? So far I have checked that my battery is getting its winter charge but that's about it. Its just to cold out there. I have money ready for the new tires, just waiting to last minute to pull the trigger.

I cant see those ever wearing out on my car since I installed the brembo calipers and light weight disks. They sure help with brake boosting when some one doesn't want to go from a dig.
