    well the idea would be haul car.. engine out.. swap oil pan and a couple other things, and install another motor ( which would be heavier) .. I'm old fat and not real flexible.. sliding under cars is tough on me.

    something about a divorce stopped you, and when she gets the house the lift wouldn't be usable any more lol.

    I never had a lift. Everything is done the old fashioned way in my garage or used to be before this stupid house idea. Oh well, it isn't going to be much longer. We have inhabited the living room and kitchen already.

    Your getting plenty of help if you need anymore I can assist. Also my brother has a stock '02 5.3 complete out of his old Avalanche if you need sources for more parts or engine.

    bottom with kmember, and transmission. unbolt the the tranny from the motor slide it off and the converter will stay with the flexplate. try getting to the bolts with a 13mm wrench. good luck need a hand yell.

    what's he looking for out of the 5.3? how many miles? ... not 100% sure on mine yet or not, few more things i need to check.

    higher mileage like over 180k, only reason we pulled it was low oil pressure when hot, but it was a very good running 5.3 I believe he wants $400 with computer.

    it'll cost a little bit of HP and torque for the time being... but some more fun noisy components can be added later.. 9.5 compression ratio makes it perfect for boost... atleast he'll be able to drive the car until his chosen power setup is installed.
