yeah.. dicks has a big sale on the Field and Stream Eagle Talon is about the best bang for your buck especially at $399 full size had rod holder for fishing lots of storage. comes with anchor and line. ... the paddle is pricy but you can get any paddle. it doesn't come with it..

you can get a good seat for it for about 75 online.. and a there are life jackets made to sit in seats with too that have a high back in them. those aren't a must unless you can't swim well.

Just keep in mind that you need to count the weight of the stuff you bring with you on the kayak like a cooler, tackle box, anchor, etc. in addition to your own weight.

she speaks the truth. a GOOD boat under 300 not easy.. a borrowed or rented one would be easier.

"Don't need a life jacket unless you can't swim well. "

    Oh Steve....

Pfd (personal flotation devices) are a needed if you are in a kayak. No one is a good swimmer when they are knocked out or disoriented. Chuck Norris might swim to shore while he sleeps off a concussion but the rest of us would not be so lucky.

The Tour de Coal required you to wear one going into the water. I think for insurance reasons, but they said after that its up to you. I think it's worth having even if you may not wear all the time. I don't normally wear mine, but I do keep it strapped to the boat.

I don't think you need a flare gun.....

I actually just took water i had the anchor in the boat but didn't need it. should have just left it out.
