Hankook makes some damn good tires but not all fetus tires are the same and nittos suck unless you get r compound tires so 555r is good 555 suck

I run rs-3s on my miata for the STR class in autox. I get beat by a guy with star specs but that has more to do with our respective driving skills than the tires. The rs-3s should be faster. If I was just daily driving then I would get the star specs since they have more tread life and still grip really well. Autox or track I'd probably go rs-3s again. The other problem is finding rs-3s in stock but that may just be in my size.

    VETUS... fucked by autocorrect again.

Hankook Vetus, they have a whole line of tires.

I have Nitto Invo's on my T/A... they break loose way too easy until they get warmed up.. i turn them over atleast once on my 1-2 shift in the automatic trans am every morning pulling out of the Drive way under part throttle. the NT05's on the vette totally suck also.

yes the 555 has a stiff sidewall. but they still don't wear well IMO, it would be my reccomendation to go with an R compound if you plan to autocross and drive like hell then get a set of all season tires around october

Logan, you bringing a car to dyno day?

That's the dumbest excuse I've ever heard not to get a dyno. Lol. That's like saying there is a chance you could smack an inflated tire with your hammer, which could bounce back in your face and kill you, so you aren't allowed to have any hammers in the shop.

That's the vetus tire that the vette owners get, maybe because of size availablity... i definitley don't like their nomenclature " max performance, extreme performance, ultra.. blah blah"

as for R compounds, the 555R doesn't wear bad vette guys are getting 10K miles out of them driving track use etc.... betweeen a nitto NON R compound and a hankook vetus or a few of the other well rated tires, i'd lean towards the hankook because it appears that they are actually softer ( grippier) than the nittos.

also try discounttiredirect.com it can go either way but remember one of those sites figures in shipping the others don't.

I put a set of hankook Vetus on a car and they seemed like they would hook up extremely well. They were pretty soft.and really sticky feeling like I could put a couple pounds of pressure on then with my finger and it'd barley slide across loll I guess thays not the test to tell but seemed really grippy

Ventus... Ya'll were confusing me with the Vetus/Fetus crap, lol. The Ventus ST RH06 is actually one of the ones I'm looking at getting for the SS

Your wear is a toe in issue not camber.

    it's a toe out issue...

FOr an all-around tire with good grip in teh rain and better than normal dry performance i like the veNtus Evo 12's......20k miles out of a set depending on driving habits...

I also think the 555 is a good tire but not quite as good as the evo 12's...and the hankooks were a little cheaper for me...

The tires you're picking are too aggressive IMO unless you see teh track once or twice a month..you have to be realistic with your use of the vehicle.

EDIT: I've also had the direzza's, pilot sports, eagle F1's......they all sucked IMO. poor tire wear for the performance given.....got hard after 8-10k miles...blah
