Dave the Buick was going down the 1320 last night. Went to PRP test and tune with my brother and Posted it's best performance to date. Did 3 passes all in the 11's the last pass was best. 11.5@121mph picked up 26mph on the big end with the converter that will not couple the power properly, I was surprised by that run. Then I broke the car going for the 4th pass lol

I'm not sure right now, probably not. The engine was seized but no visual damage and not leaking anything. Perhaps timing chain broke, these 6's are tough on timing sets. This happend at the end of a burnout going for my 4th pass, I'll go and try to bring it home Thursday when the track is open again.

    Yep, Thanks Levi.
Re-plumbed the air inlet/air filter, may redo it once again later but it will be alright for time being.
New engine is doing great, it did develop an erratic or loss of ignition signal during cranking but it is all good now. Had a crispy fried grounding wire which is repaired and added a large redundant chassis/engine ground.

How do you control the timing with that setup? Is retard done by a knock sensor or by a certain amount per pound of boost?

I like to live dangerously, so no knock sensors on the Buick plus I'm kind of poor. A Mallory 685 ignition box along with a 3 bar map sensor is how the ignition timing is maintained. Dial it in however the user wants from .01-5* per PSI. Before the 685 box I just used a 4 pin HEI module and VR sensor to get the proper ignition retard... also dangerous.

Dangerous I agree lol. Do you run pump gas or something with higher octane?

Always 93 pump gas, no boosters added except for Alkycontrol system spraying 100% methanol. I'd recommend it to anyone running forced induction.

All set for this weekend's FLD's. I had to remove all the spark plugs, one failed since they are made out of country now. Blew the porcelain right out of the base, I don't trust the other 5 so back to the NGK's I like to run.

Blew the inlet tank off my intercooler at the last FLD.
I removed the old intercooler since boost or a restriction blew the plastic inlet tank off. It was only a 2.5" in/out, I think the core matrix was fairly efficient and it was living with boost above 30psi for 3.5-4 years before It blew. Behr made it, it was a 2005 model. The new intercooler is 3" in/out I don't know for sure if it is an upgrade or not. I do know it is heavier than I figured. Some pics of the two with comparison and the new one installed.

Also got a fuel pump upgrade because I as running what is considered a single 255lph pump. New one is a Bosch 044 style with pretty good specifications , AEM 380lph@43psi and 270lph@120psi

What's a knock sensor lol? I have never ran one. Just keep the total timing to 15*

    That's right Kenny, thanks.
This machine has to enjoy these refreshes, normally the Buick just gets used up with multiple hits and beat on everywhere.

I am ready to put this machine back together and go play. I got my EA2004R trans freshened up along with a new Alkycontrol pump and today I received my last part a FTS 9.5 nlu torque converter. I'm excited to feel the new converter and fresh trans.
